Objective:
To produce a standout, national-level video for the Department for Education-funded Language Hubs programme — commissioned by the National Consortium for Languages Education (NCLE) — that sets the tone for how the entire initiative should be presented to schools, teachers, stakeholders and the wider public.
Concept:
We were brought in not just to deliver a video — but to set the bar. Working closely with NCLE and the Adur Language Hub team, we developed a storytelling approach rooted in authenticity, aspiration and simplicity. The video had to feel grounded in real classrooms, yet elevate the programme’s vision beyond lesson plans and curriculum bullet points. We combined interviews with pupils and educators, director of NCLE, as well as NCLE director of School Partnerships and Professional Development, real classroom footage and aspirational visuals of future-focused learners.
We made sure the tone was clear, warm, and focused — designed to resonate with schools across the country, while earning the confidence of DfE-level stakeholders.
Outcomes:
National benchmark content commissioned as a model for future Language Hub communications. The video was shared across multiple hub sites, programme pages and CPD events Endorsed by NCLE for use in presentations and digital communications. It helped align schools and stakeholders around the programme’s vision and strengthened public understanding of the long-term value of learning French, German and Spanish.
This wasn’t just another education video — it was a chance to help shape how the Language Hubs programme is seen, understood and embraced across the UK. We’re proud to have been trusted to lead the storytelling on a project with national ambition and deep educational value. And we’re even prouder of how the final video is already supporting the mission to put language learning back on the map.
